Sylvia Joy Helton, 74, Silver Lake, died at 1:58 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. 

She was born July 24, 1942, in Pikeville, Ky., to Glover & Alpha (Pinson) Charles.  On Sept. 12, 1981 she married Carl "Dude" Helton.  He died Jan. 3, 2011. 

She is survived by a son,  two stepsons, two stepdaughters, three grandchildren.

Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church of God, Silver Lake, IN and one hour prior to service on Thursday.  Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the church.
