NM groups to sponsor spring trip to Quad Cities



North Manchester Historical Society and Manchester Shepherds Center are announcing their spring tour traveling to the Quad Cities. Tour dates are May 29-31, 2024. This three-day, two-night trip is to the Quad Cities, including Rock Island and Moline Illinois plus Davenport and Bettendorf Iowa. Some of the points of interest we are visiting include the Isabel Bloom factory tour, tour and tasting at Chocolate Manor, Botanical Garden tour, we will spend time at the John Deere Pavilion ending the second day with a dinner cruise on the Celebration Belle River boat. On our last day we will stop at the American Picker’s Antique Archaeology as we travel back to North Manchester. Total cost is $540 per person, double occupancy. FOC FOOD PANTRY is open from 2-5 p.m. on Thursdays. The Food Pantry is located at 500 N. Front Street, N. Manchester.

BELLES & BEAUS DANCE: Put on your dancing shoes and check out the Belles & Beaus at the Scout Hall at Warvel Park on the third Sunday of the month from 6-8:30 p.m.

MFOC THRIFT SHOP: MFOC Market Street, North Manchester. Thrift Shop hours are Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Closed Sunday and Monday. Donations only during business hours. Use back door for all donations. We do not accept large appliances, furniture, televisions, or computers. Call 260-982-4592 if you have any questions. THURSDAY’S CHILD: Do you have a newborn? Thursday’s Child has a lovely gift bag of useful items for you and your child! We recently changed our inventory to newborn through 4T (some 5T). Diapers, wipes, jackets and other necessities for little ones are also in stock. ALL ITEMS ARE FREE, and there are NO INCOME REQUIREMENTS! Thursday’s Child is open from 1-4 p.m. on Thursday in the same building as the Thrift Shop (410 N. Market Street). COME SEE US!

NM COMMUNITY PANTRY: Located at the Market Street ‘porch area’ of the N. M. Public Library, the small outdoor pantry is open 24/7. The outdoor shed has been well-stocked by the community with items such as canned goods, pasta, diapers, toilet paper, hygiene products, and snack items. The Community Pantry is available for anyone to take anything they may need, no application needed.

DRIVE THRU FOC FELLOWSHIP MEAL hosted by the Fellowship of Churches is held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at the Zion Lutheran Church from 4:30-6 p.m. or supplies run out. The church is located at 113 W. Main Street. Guests should drive up in front of the Zion Lutheran Church for pickup.
