Marilyn Dyson, 85

Marilyn June Dyson, 85, of rural Roann, died at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at her home.

She was born Oct. 10, 1932, in South Bend, to Wilbur and Mary "Lucile" (Smith) Nicely.

Marilyn was a 1950 graduate of Roann High School.  She married her high school sweetheart, Keith Dyson at the Roann First Brethren Church on Aug. 17, 1951.  She was a telephone operator at the Roann Telephone office, worked at General Tire in Wabash, and was a homemaker.  She attended the Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church in Wabash.  Marilyn enjoyed cooking, doing crafts, playing cards, painting, noodle making, but especially enjoyed going to her grandkids activities. 

She is survived by her husband, Keith Dyson; four children, Jo Ellen (Jerry) Nelson of Roann, Mike (Deb) Dyson of North Manchester, Mark (Sally) Dyson of Roann, and June (Bobby) Haecker of North Manchester; 11 grandchildren, Bryan Nelson of Mesa, Ariz., Annie Nelson of Indianapolis, Travis Dyson of North Manchester, Kyle (Hillary) Evans of Roann, Tommy (Darcy) Dyson of Bennington, Mich., Julie Dyson of Traverse City, Mich., Kari (Matt) Weaver of Roann, Cassie (Larry) McClelland of Warsaw, and Emily Haecker, Braydon Sewell, and Bailey Sewell, all of North Manchester; six great-grandchildren, and her dog, Gus. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert and James Nicely.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church, 129 Southwood Drive, Wabash, with Pastor Terry Hinds officiating.  Burial will be in Roann Community Cemetery.  Friends may call 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the church. 

In honor of Marilyn's love of feeding the masses, everyone is invited to Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church for a meal, Wednesday following the funeral.  Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Roann, Indiana.
