Abbie Kerr, 91, passed away at 9 p.m. on June 17, at Hospice House in Fort Wayne. She was born on Oct. 15, 1922 in Freeport, N.Y. to Louis and May Kienzle.
Abbie married William W. Kerr on May 7, 1944. Abbie lived in Freeport, N.Y., Birmingham, Mich., Indianapolis, Prospect Heights, Ill., and Rochester, Mich., before retiring to Largo, Fla., in 1978. Abbie relocated to Fort Wayne, in 2012.
Abbie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (James) Stefanatos, Wabash and Nancy (Paul) Sweeney, Fort Myers, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Michele Beal, Westfield, Bill Shaner, Bunker Hill, Bridget Hopkins, Lafayette, Colo., Paul Sweeney, Tampa, Fla., Cindy (John) Gogos, Fort Wayne, Dan (Chasta) Stefanatos, Frankfort, and Mary Anne (Mick) Tait, Wabash; 12 great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, and Jaclyn Beal, Ellie and Lola Hopkins, Kristen (Andy) Speicher, Emma, Alex, and Tessa Stefanatos, Emma Bunting, Jason and Jackson Tait; one great, great-grandchild, Corra Speicher; sister, Margie Moore, Huntington Beach, Calif.; two nieces and one nephew.
A celebration of life will be held Aug. 2, with burial later in Acacia Park Cemetery in Beverly Hills, Mich.
Preferred memorial is to the Hospice House, Fort Wayne.
