Charles T. Miller, 82, North Manchester, died Jan. 3 at 6:21 p.m. at Wabash County Hospital. He was born July 15, 1931 in North Manchester to Jesse and Ruby (Fanning) Miller.
Charlie was a 1949 graduate of Central High School. He began working at the former Peabody Seating Co., North Manchester, and later became a salesman for Farm Bureau, State Farm and Prudential Life Insurance Companies. He retired after 25 years with R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co., Warsaw. After retirement, he worked at The Paper of Wabash County. He loved his family and was an avid sports fan, particularly NASCAR and Jeff Gordon, the Cincinnati Reds and IU basketball. He married Ruth Gearhart on Oct. 12, 1951. She survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Todd Miller and Chad (Robin) Miller, North Manchester; two daughters, Cathy Shepherd, North Manchester and Angela Mannix, Angola; a sister, Colleen Summers, North Manchester; one cousin, Jack Miller, North Manchester; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson and a son-in-law, Jay Shepherd.
Funeral services were held Jan. 8 at McKee Mortuary, with Pastor Kurt Stout officiating. Burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
