Geri Schuler, 76

Geri Schuler, 76, rural North Manchester, died at 8:47 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 29 at Wabash County Hospital. She was born Jan. 28, 1937 in Wabash County to Clyde Pries and Lavaughn (Overly) Pries Clupper.

Geri was a 1955 graduate of Wabash High School. She married John P. Schuler on June 12, 1955 at the South Side E.U.B. Church in Wabash. She was a retired trust officer at Wells Fargo Bank where she worked for 32 years. She also drove an MSD school bus for 10 years while raising her family. She was active in the family farm, loved to garden, enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid IU fan. She most enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and attending their many activities. She attended Wabash First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Margaret Wilson Circle.  Geri was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the last of her breed and she leaves a legacy as large as her heart. All that knew her will miss her. We are so fortunate to have had her in our lives. She believed in God and we know she is with him today. Don't mourn her; she would not want that. Celebrate her life and keep a memory of her in your heart of this distinguished lady we all loved.

She is survived by her husband, John P. Schuler, North Manchester; four children, Debbie (Dan) Schuler Kistler, Peru, Deanna Schuler, North Manchester, Mike (Andrea) Schuler, Roann, and Scott (Kelly) Schuler, North Manchester; 10 grandchildren, Natalie, Eli, Jake, John, Ellie, Hallie, Attie, Will, Annie, and Lily Schuler; a brother, Don (Marty) Pries of Kokomo, step-sister Barb (J.R.) Ansel, Wabash. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Cecil Clupper, stepsister Betty Clupper, and granddaughter Amelia Schuler.

Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3 at First United Methodist Church, 110 N. Cass St., Wabash, with Pastors Kurt Freeman and John Cook officiating.  Burial was in Roann Community Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to Margaret Wilson Circle at Wabash First United Methodist Church or Roann Community Cemetery.
