Juanita Thomas, 85, Wabash, died at 7:55 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born to the late Isaiah and Lorena (Rousey) Harrell on Dec. 17, 1928 in LaFontaine.
She was a 1945 graduate from LaFontaine High School. He married Arden D. Thomas on July 11, 1953; he passed away Oct. 30, 2013. She started working in 1974 at Richard’s Restaurant, she also worked at PaPa Joe’s Restaurant in Wabash. She was a homemaker to her family. She was a member of American Legion Post 15 Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Post 286 Ladies Auxiliary, and Moose Lodge 1195 all of Wabash, Indiana. She was also a member of New Life Baptist Church of Wabash, Indiana.
She is survived by three granddaughters, Holly Sutton, Mrs. Bobby (Teresa) Velasquez, and April Sutton; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Sutton in 1995, a brother, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992, with Pastor Scott Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Servia, Indiana.
