Melody Ann Henry, 56, Wabash, died at 11:52 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Miller's Merry Manor in Wabash. She was born Feb. 4, 1957 in Marion, to Robert and Patricia (Riley) Russell.
Melody was a 1975 graduate of Wabash High School. She married Patrick Henry in Wabash, on Nov. 29, 1975. She worked at the Wabash Curb-a-teria for 11 years, and from 1986-2003, she worked in the lunch program for Wabash City Schools. Melody was a lifetime member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority. She was a homemaker and loved to bake. She enjoyed traveling and vacationing with her family. She loved the Wabash High School band and served on the band boosters for several years. She played fast pitch softball eight years and coached Community Service Soccer eight years. Melody loved watching IU basketball and Wabash Apache Sports.
She is survived by husband, Patrick Henry, Wabash; mother, Patricia Russell, Bradenton, Fla.; two children, Maren (Patrick) Henry-Kennedy, Westerville, Ohio, and Matthew (Belinda Shock) Henry, Huntington; three grandchildren, Brendan Patrick Henry, Huntington, Harper KayAnn Kennedy, and Hudson Paul Kennedy, both of Westerville; sisters, Peggie Cleveland, Peru, Marcie Prior, Columbus, MeShell (Allen) Wallen, Kokomo and Melicia Batts, Bradenton. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Sr. and her brother, Robert Jr.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 10:30 a.m., with Chaplin Herb Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash.
