Johnny William Caltagirone, 44, of La Fontaine, Indiana, died at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Joseph and Dora (Mongeo) Caltagirone.
Johnny married Ella Collum in Brooksville, Florida, on April 16, 1988. While living in Florida, he worked on concrete, marcite, and diamondbrite pools, and for the past two years worked at Bulldog Battery in Wabash. He loved fishing, horseshoes, bonfires, and especially his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Caltagirone of La Fontaine; and four children, Danyel' Caltagirone, La Fontaine, Johnny Caltagirone II of Land O Lakes, Florida, Jeremy Caltagirone of Brooksville, Florida, and Codi Caltagirone of La Fontaine; five grandchildren, Abby Elliott and Leah Lind, both of La Fontaine, Jaylynn Caltagirone of Brooksville, Johnny Caltagirone III of Land O Lakes, and Codi Caltagirone II of La Fontaine; five sisters, Mary (Tom) Neiderhelman of Brooksville, Lorraine Freed of Daytona, Florida, Dorren (Bob) Crawford, Valerie (Mike) Flammia, and Joyce (Bruce) Jennings, all of Brooksville; brother, Billy (Suzie) Caltagirone of Charlotte, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joseph Caltagirone.
There will be no services. Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service of Wabash is handling arrangements. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Brooksville, Florida.
