Frank Marion Music, 77, rural LaFontaine, died at 5:08 a.m. Thursday, June 27, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, after a long battle with chronic illness. He was born April 10, 1936 in Paintsville, Ky. to loving parents Melvin and Aggie (Powers) Music.
He attended school in Millie, Ky. He served in the US Army from 1954 to 1958, traveling to Italy. Frank married Joann Butcher in Paintsville on Dec. 31, 1959. They had five children. Frank worked at Celotex in Lagro for 34 years until his retirement in 1994. He enjoyed mowing, gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family. He had a funny comment for every situation. He will be missed for his sound judgment and advice, his quick-witted humor, and his undying love and devotion to his family.
He leaves behind his wife, Joann Music, LaFontaine; four children, Debora (Jody) Brown and Michael Music, both of LaFontaine, Lisa (Jeff) Hill, Wabash, and Vonda (Miguel) Yanez, Fort Wayne; two sisters, Lorene Blankenship, Mount Sterling, Ohio, and Gussie (Tiny) Music, Van Lear, Ky.; 10 grandchildren, Jacob Music, Chesterton, Heather Music and Ethan Music, both of LaFontaine, Joseph Brown, LaFontaine, Justin Hill and Jared Hill, both of Wabash, Alexis Yanez, Michael Yanez, Victoria Yanez, and Elisabeth Yanez, all of Fort Wayne, four great-grandchildren, Callie and Kyler Music, both of Chesterton, Bailie and Brooklynn Music, both of LaFontaine. He was preceded in death by his son, Frank Music Jr., two brothers, Gilbert (Bub) and James Music, and his sister, Susie Ferguson.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, on Monday, July 1, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Tim Webb and Rev. Charles Sluss officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
