Jane Rogers, 95, Wabash, died at 2:28 a.m. on June 27 in her home.
Jane was born on Jan. 16, 1918 to Larry A. and Nevada (Creps) Curtis in Wabash. On June 13, 1936, she married William W. “Bill” Rogers, who died Sept. 21, 2006.
Jane attended Somerset High School and graduated from Wabash High School in 1936. She was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church since 1936, and a long time Sunday School teacher. She was also a former member of Hoosier Homemaker Home Economics Club, Linlawn Missionary Society, and the Kessler Corner Ladies Aide Society. Jane worked for Bertsch Vending Co. three years and was an auctioneer Clerk for her husband Bill Rogers for 50 years. She was an avid bowler.
She is survived by three children, Vada Rogers of Arvada, Colorado; Nancy (Mick) Mullett and Michael (DeAnn) Rogers, both Wabash; her special daughter, Judy Decker, Treaty; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Larry Rogers, who died in 1952, and a sister Betty Purdy.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with her grandson, Andrew Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Preferred memorial is Christian Children’s Fund.
