Virginia Hancock, 83

Virginia Ann Hancock, 83, Wabash, died July 27, 10:30 p.m., at Miller's Merry Manor East, Wabash.

She was born Feb. 20, 1927, in Wabash, to Harvey and Althea "Maggie" (Millican) Hancock.

Ms. Hancock worked as a waitress at restaurants in both Wabash and Warsaw. She enjoyed reading and working in her flower garden.

She is survived by her sister, Inez Fleming, and her sister-in-law, Sandra Hancock, both of Wabash; nine nieces and nephews, Tim Hancock, Pennsylvania; Roger (Kathy) Gordon, Wabash; Mandie Gordon, Oakland, Calif.; Corinna (Jay) Baumbauer, Red Lodge, Mont.; Jedd (Lanita) Hancock, Lagro; Vance (Karie) Hancock, Wabash; and Grace (Comer) Webb, Cindy (Randy) White, and Jo Elaine Hancock, all of Peru.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Ronald Hancock; and a sister, Sharon Correl.

Funeral services were held July 31, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
