Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Woomer, 91, North Manchester, died July 28, 11:00 a.m., at Wabash County Hospital.

She was born July 10, 1919, in Expedit, Pa., to Alonzo L. and Emma B. (Marsh) Danvir. She married Arch Mahlon Woomer on Nov. 17, 1947; he died Aug. 10, 2003.

Mrs. Woomer was a 1937 graduate of Blacklick Township High School in Cambria County, Pa. She was a homemaker and during World War II she worked at Sylvania Co., Altoona, Pa. She was a member of the Congregational Christian Church and Ivy Chapter # 69 Order of Eastern Star, both of North Manchester. She was also a member of Daughters of the Nile, Altoona, Pa.

She is survived by a son, Gary M. (Sue) Woomer, Downington, Pa.; a daughter, Kathy (Roger) Prater, North Manchester; two grandchildren, Jeffrey M. (Tara) Woomer and Tracey (Andrew) Blickos, both of Coatsville, Pa.; five great-grandchildren; three nieces; and three nephews. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held Aug. 6, 7 p.m., at Congregational Christian Church, 310 N. Walnut St., North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Calling will be Aug. 6, 5-7 p.m., at the church. Burial will be in Bald Eagle Cemetery, Bald Eagle, Pa.
