Nathanial Cain, 20

Nathanial D. Cain, 20, North Manchester, died July 24, 3:25 p.m., at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.

He was born Jan. 20, 1990, in Marion, to Brian D. and Darla R. (Ayres) Cain.

Nathanial graduated from Manchester High School in 2008, where he was on the tennis team for four years, swim team for three years, track team for two years, golf team for two years, and he played basketball for one year. He had currently been employed with the North Manchester Parks & Recreation Department and New Market in North Manchester. He had previously worked at HF Group, North Manchester. He had been a private swimming instructor to many area children.

Nathanial was a member of First Brethren Church, North Manchester. He was an avid weight lifter, a lifeguard at the North Manchester Community Pool, and he and his family were members of the North Manchester Merchants softball team. He attended Ball State University for two years. He loved spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his parents, Brian and Darla Cain, North Manchester; a brother, Noah Cain, North Manchester; a stepbrother, Nicholas Cain, Sweetser; a sister, Natalee Cain, North Manchester; his maternal grandparents, James and Connie Ayres; his paternal grandparents, David and Jane Cain; and his maternal great-grandmother, Eulah Beck, all of Marion; his paternal great-grandmother, Mary Hoke, Fairmount; three aunts, Sherri Heinzen, Gas City; Vicki Ludlow, Marion; and Debra (Rodney) McClain, Swayzee; an uncle, Dennis (Chastity) Ayres, Marion; and six first-cousins.

Funeral services will be held July 30, 10 a.m., at McKee Mortuary, 1401 SR 114 W, North Manchester, with Pastor Kurt Stout officiating. Calling will be July 29, 2 - 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
