Ora Gressley, 93

Ora O. Gressley, 93, Huntington, died July 5, 5:30 p.m., at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born June 21, 1917, in Huntington County, to John and May (Dubbs) Gessley. He married Viola Biddle on June 26, 1937; she preceded him in death Jan. 21, 2010.

Mr. Gressley graduated from Huntington High School in 1936. He retired as a yard conductor from Erie Lackawanna-Conrail Railroad. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, United Transportation Union, and Cum Double Sunday School Class.

He is survived by three sons, Larry (Teresa) Gressley, Wabash; and Ronald (Phyllis) Gressley and Robert “Bob” (Karen) Gressley, both of Huntington; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Everett Gressley; and a sister, Mabel Hamm.

Funeral services were held July 11, at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington, with Rev. Richard Bunnell officiating. Burial was in The Garden of Memory, Marion.
