Donald “Doc” L. Smith, 68, Warren, died at 8:53 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19 at his residence. He was born on March 15, 1945 in Kokomo. He married Diane Merckx on Feb. 25, 1963 in Huntington. Doc previously worked as a Truck Driver for 20 years at Stoops Express in Anderson. He served in the United States Army 9th Infantry Division from 1965-1967, serving in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed guns, working on his lawn mowers, fishing, hunting and gardening. Doc coached baseball in Warren for several years.
Laverna M. West, 81, West Virginia, died Jan. 17, at 6 p.m. in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born May 1, 1932 at Athens, Tenn. to Elbert and Elizabeth (Griggs) Carpenter.
John A. Tolle, 72, Windfall, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 16, at I.U. Health Tipton Hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1941 in Tipton, the son of Lavon and E. Louise (Pettay) Tolle.
Carol Ann Showalter, 66, Wabash, died Monday, Jan. 13, at her home. She was born Aug. 31, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio to Wayne and Irene (Flint) Cummings.
Bruce E. Pingleton, 46, North Manchester, died at 2:42 p.m. on Jan. 18, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born May 4, 1967 in Wabash, to Carl E. and Mary Louise (Greene) Pingleton. They are deceased.
Florine Marshall, 99, North Manchester, died at 2:50 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at Timbercrest Healthcare Center. She was born in Laketon, July 2, 1914 to Esta O. and Nellie O. (Stucker) Baker.
Frederick Dean Seibold, 65, rural Roann, died at 4:33 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Wabash County Hospital. He was born Aug. 8, 1948 in Wabash, to Frederick and Donna (Siegfred) Seibold.
