Jim Burdette recently joined the Dorais Chevy Buick GMC sales staff as a part-time salesman, coming to the dealership with over 10 years of auto sales experience.
“I had sold at Shepherd’s for 12 years,” Burdette said. “I’m also the owner of Scotty’s bar, so I was looking for a part-time job and found an ad in The Paper that said to talk to Dave. I did, and he said I’d fit right in.”
According to Burdette, selling cars is something he has missed.
“The challenge of getting the deal done is enjoyable,” Burdette said. “I met so many people in 12 years at Shepherd’s and many of them became friends. It’s something I’ve wanted to get back into for a while.”
“Dorais has a small town feel and no pressure sales,” Burdette continued. “It’s just the right fit for me. I’m able to work three days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and by appointment any other time.”
Burdette, a native of Great Falls, Mont., moved to Wabash 13 years ago. He and his wife of nearly 20 years have two daughters, both of which attend school in Manchester.
